Default At Last! (Irony encl)

Its is May 1st, the day that all competitive GW players have been waiting for since before Christmas, and the start of the new competitve season!

May Season Starts: May 1 Playoffs: May 26 & 27 Playoff time: 19:00 GMT

http://www.guildwars.com/competitive...mpetitive2.php

At last we can play in GvG that actually means something after months of training and practising on the ladder! All that training, all that practise, finally, real GvG again! As we were all promised no further delays, we can assume that the open testing period that they promised would take place prior to today has actually been done in secret, and now they are ready to announce the revised AT schedule starting today! I say revised, becasue of course the schedule they originally posted both sucks and blows for 90% of the teams in the world, and I am certain that, as always, they listened to the feedback.

After all, they surely wouldnt allow competitive play to stagnate for yet another month, what with a new chapter out soon. Surely they wouldnt allow the continued drift of decent players away from the game, players who are just bored with broken skills and a meaningless ladder? Surely?

Nah, cant happen. See you all in AT tonight then

[The above post may not actually represent the views or beliefs of the poster or of his guild, or of anyone with an ounce of sanity for that matter]

What a time to get kicked. And we missed the ATs testing last night by about 30 seconds too.

Maybe I can't read, but doesn't "so we can do live testing during the first week of May" kind of say they're gonna put it in earlier, but not award points till the 9th? or do they mean more of that private testing crap?

*wishful thinking*

*remembers who is working on the game*

*pout*

To me if seems as if they tried their best to screw up times for me..:S

Really, the first schedule I could make 3 or 4 tournaments a week if I tried my best, now I doubt I can make one (note: with 'making a tournament' I mean being able to stay until the finals).

The new times are perfect for our guild. We can now do ATs on both Wednesday and Sunday, and we could even do it on other days if we wanted to.

I'd be disappointed if they don't let you switch rosters when it comes out. Having a 8 person roster that can't be changed for the entire tournament is stupid. Does Anet even acknowledge that people can have jobs, emergencies, errands to run, chores to do, and any other circumstance? Forcing a team to stay for the entire 4 hours or something is ridiculous. If the team's doing good and got into the playoffs, forfeiting seems like a waste, but playing with henchies will just screw up their rating. GG

They aren't.

holymasamune, lrn 2 rd plx. You can change your team setup, but you need at least 6 of the people you were running in the very first match.

The irony is that Slayers were in the Test AT last night and had izzy come and rally a call in alliance chat to make sure they remembered to enter. i think they had all logged off by then though lol.

Well, to be entirely fair, we did actually "play" one game, which is more than most other teams in the test, including several famous ones, did. I say "play" in quotes because at the time we logged off the tournament to date had consisted of a series of teams forfeiting games. We had a team of sorts (players and heroes) assembled in our hall but there didnt seem any point in hanging around for 40 minutes between "games" (various teams forfeiting) when it was already midnight. Was a shame.

Anyway, gg Anet, I didnt expect them to pull that one out, as you can tell from the OP

We ( [SaS] ) ran the first game with 4 players and 4 heroes.

There's one thing i hope they change and that is notifying you if your team isn't eligible.
We faced [bk] in the first match and they didn't have enough members who had been in the guild over 14 days at the time.
Now from what I know they were only told about this (although they already knew) just as the timer hit zero for the game to start and forfeited them straight off.

We were supposed to play MATH but when we hit the 'Join' button, we got a message saying "At least 4 members of your party must be in your guild" ~ even though we had 6 guildies in the team :S.

Then it forfeited us cos the time ran out.

Were any of those members in the guild for less than 14 days?
